Marion Freeman (1891-1953)
Marion Freeman Wakeman was known as a painter, illustrator and etcher. She studied at the Arts Student League with Luks and DuMond, and was a pupil of Hawthorne and Tryon. She was a member of the NAWA and exhibited at the National Academy of Design, Montclair Art Museum and Smith College. Listed member of Who's Who in America, book illustrator and a graduate of Smith College in Northhampton, Wakeman is well known throughout New England.
